Napalm Riot

So I just realized that there isn't a spot in the profile to just add stuff about yourself. Either that or I really missed it.
Whatever. So here I am, writing my first ever blog to introduce myself and get myself a little more experienced with this whole "blogging" thing I've been hearing about. Hooray for run-on sentences. I also trust that the stalkers who may or may not be on Napalm will leave me alone. Thank you.

My full name is Ryan Sherman Grimes. I go mostly by Grimes in real life (and I suppose on the web) but Ryan is a very good name as well. Or GrimesFace, if you prefer something a little less intimate. I am 16, going on 17, and my birthday is May 12. I live in Ypsilanti, Mi, a small town about half an hour away from Detroit. I am currently attending Ypsilanti High School for my Junior year. Very exciting, I know.

I'm not a picky eater. Well, yes, I actually am, but I don't mind missing a meal or two if the need be. Or if that one level just isn't submitting to my will ... but that's only happened a few times. But yeah, I'll eat pretty much everything except seafood and most Mediterranean stuff. I love Chinese and Mexican food, in fact I recently almost killed myself at the local Dynasty Buffet. I feel sorry for my friend's toilet. {shudders}

Music and video games are (sadly, so most people think) pretty much my life. I have been playing percussion in the school band for almost 6 years, and I discovered the wonders of the drumset a good five years ago. Most amazing thing I ever tried. Nothing gets me in a better mood now like just sitting behind the drums and playing with my friends (or random people, as long as they know what they're doing). I play both rock and jazz styles, for my band and school respectively. I just like the feeling of making music, by myself or with other people. I am also a self-taught guitarist of about 5 years. I dabbled for a bit into the ukulele, violin, piano, and bass, none of which are exactly my forte, (musician humor lol), but to this day I retain some skill in all of the above.

I think I began playing video games at my grandpa's house maybe 12 years ago. He had a room that was just a chair, a TV, and his NES. My first game, to my memory, was the original Super Mario Bros. It was love at first sight. When he died, we got the system and my parents discovered what they considered the horror of video games. Not that I was exactly pleasant when they asked me to stop, of course. Nothing close to the chocolate milk kid, though lol.
Like I was saying. My infatuation slowly grew over the years until today (I guess that makes sense). I currently own a NES (not the same one, but another one I found after Mom and Dad secretly sold Grandpa's), an N64, a PlayStation, an Xbox (loaned to my friend), GameCube, Wii, and my baby, the Xbox 360. I swear I gave birth to it myself. Don't ask. I just love that thing. I'd get a PS3 if it weren't so damn expensive ... but thats for another time.
The parental unit used to be really strict about timing on "the box," but lately they're been more lenient. That or they're waiting for theyr moment to strike ... So I hope to see you all more often on the internet!

Speaking of the internet, I'll wrap this up by talking about my communicational skills. As you can see, I make up words sometimes. I'm assuming that isn't a word. I do my best to be polite on the forums and whatnot because you can't always tell someone's tone through text. I love to have a sense of humor when I'm on the forums because I feel that it helps everyone out in the end. Not to say I don't have my faults. I'll attack someone, but I try to do it in the most sarcastic, pseudo-polite way possible. But that usually only happens when I'm in an emotional stir. Which is usually only all the time. ;)

But hey, thats a little about myself. I hope to continue this blogging thing as soon as I find something else blog-worthy to write about.
